About

BuildCalc publishes free material calculators for deck, fence and stair projects. Every page shows the formula, a worked example and its source. The tools are planning aids: they estimate quantities, they do not replace code review, engineering, or your supplier's advice.

Disclaimer

Results are estimates. Building codes and product requirements vary by location and change over time. Confirm everything with your local building department and your materials supplier. BuildCalc is not liable for decisions made from these results.

Privacy

The calculators and the quote maker run in your browser; the numbers, prices and customer details you enter are not sent to a server. Your unit choice and saved quote details are stored in your browser only. If you join the email list, we store your email address, the type of user you pick, the name of the page you signed up on and the date, and use them only to tell you about new tools. You can remove your address at any time on the removal page.
